David F. Greenbaum, MD, FACS
David F. Greenbaum, MD, FACS Dr. David Greenbaum has been practicing general surgery at Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County (LMCBC) for 23 years. While performing most general surgical procedures, he has distinguished himself as one of the expert bariatric surgeons nationally. He and his associates perform 15-20 bariatric operations monthly and all types of surgeries including Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Band, Laparoscopic Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass, Duodenal Switch, and Conversions of Prior Failed Weight Loss Operations to Duodenal Switch are done. In fact, he is one of the preferred surgeons nationwide doing these conversions to the Duodenal Switch and operates on patients from all over the United States for this problem as well as getting referrals from other bariatric surgeons for this.
He graduated from the Johns Hopkins University in 1976, from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1980 and performed his internship and residency in general surgery at the Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. In 2006, he completed a fellowship on Duodenal Switch Surgery with Drs. John and Robert Rabkin in San Francisco, California. He is now the director of bariatric services at LMCBC and is a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), a past chairman of the Public and Professional Committee and a member of several other committees at the ASMBS. He is known and well respected by his peers nationally through this organization.
Samuel H. Wasser, MD, FACS
Samuel Wasser is a native of New Jersey and has practiced in Burlington County for sixteen years. He received his bachelorís degree from George Washington University in 1979 and his medical degree from George Washington School of Medicine in Washington, DC in 1983. His surgical residencies were completed at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and Morristown Memorial Hospital. Dr. Wasser is the chief of the section of vascular non-invasive diagnostic laboratory. He has served on the hospitalís executive committee for many years. He is a diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners. In addition to being board certified by the American Board of Surgery in 1989, he is a member of the American Medical Association, the New Jersey Medical Society, the Vascular Society of New Jersey and the Eastern Vascular Society. Dr. Wasser has developed a large personal series of microvascular peripheral arterial reconstruction procedures, specializing in arterial, vascular and varicose vein surgery and serves as the director of the hospitalís Wound Care Center. Dr. Wasser is a fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. In addition to vascular procedures, Dr. Wasser has performed more than 400 bariatric procedures, mostly laparoscopic gastric bypass and Lap Bands. He was also the first surgeon to perform Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy in the southern New Jersey area and recently performed Single Incision Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy.
